Down Pillows Are Warm 
The head is an interesting thing. Since so much blood is in the head, it has an enormous ability to lose heat. That is why so many people wear knit caps in winter. Here is one hint. If you go camping in the cold weather, bring a knit cap and wear it at night. It will make a huge difference in your warmth factor.
The down pillow works in much the same way. A fluffy down pillow will tend to wrap around the sides of your head. This wrapping effect traps in heat. You won’t get nearly as cold at night.
Down Pillows are Comfortable
The other major factor is comfort. Down is the lightest and fluffiest thing known to mankind. It is very comfortable. When you put your head down, it tends to softly sink in. You are quite literally floating on warm air.
